Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal offers a membership category tailored for Industry stakeholder bodies called ‘Affiliate Member category’.

The annual fee is R 11, 490 per annum with the following Value proposition:

1. Advice and assistance on compliance issues
2. Advice and assistance from the Association’s Building Services department
3. Advice and assistance on Occupational Health and Safety matters
4. Invite to member meetings
5. Access to Information: Website\Blog\Newsletters etc
6. Brochure display (DL Flyer) and management service
7. Networking opportunities
8. Listing on Find a Builder and/or Find a Supplier web modules
9. Listing on Master Builders KZN member App under find a supplier available from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
10. Use of Affiliate Member logo
11. Access to Private Projects and tender bulletins
12. Discounts for all members of affiliate body in commercial units.
13. Logo on banner wall at annual awards.

If an affiliate body is interested in having all of their members registered as members of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal in their individual capacity which will enable the Association to assist them on a one to one basis, the Association will happily engage with them regarding their requirements. Based on their requirements, a group membership fee proposal may possibly be negotiated.

Corporate Membership is open to any contractor, subcontractor or supplier to the industry who fulfills the criteria either applicable to Full or Associate Membership of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal.

A Corporate Member Banner Wall containing the company logos of all corporate members is to be staged at the Annual Awards event.

Round Table discussion

The Association will host at least one round table event per year at which Corporate Members will be able to engage with a high profile guest on matters impacting the building Industry.

Corporate Members Prominently Displayed on Find a Builder web page. 

A list containing all Corporate Members are prominently displayed on Find a Builder landing page. When clicked on, it goes straight to their page in the online membership directory or to the member’s website, whichever is preferable to the member.

Pull-Up Banner at Golf Day Prize Giving

Each Corporate Member is entitled to display a pull-up Banner at one of the Association's annual golfing events.

Use of Corporate Member Logo

Corporate Members are able to display the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Corporate Member Logo on their vehicles, websites, letterheads, business cards as well as other marketing material.

The Association’s marketing team oversees the promotion of the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal brand as well as the promotion of members through various online and offline media channels.

The Find-A-Builder and Find-A-Supplier web modules significantly enhances the Associations ability to promote members to the public as well as to other members. Members who are in good standing receive a listing in the Master Builders KZN App as well as usage of the Association logo. Associate members can display DL flyers in the brochure wall situated in the Westville office reception area.

The Master Builders KZN App connects members of the Association to the world of work. The App complements the Association’s online Find-a-Builder and Find-a-Supplier directories and enables prospective clients with easy access to member information. The App may be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

Health & Safety 

As a member, you receive free health & safety advice and assistance, as well as discounted consulting rates.

Financial Services 

The Master Builders Financial Services division offers a range of financial services and products, which are tailor-made for the building and construction industry.  We also have an employee benefits division which administers a provident fund, a pension fund and the Holiday Pay scheme.

Networking 

The Association arranges numerous meetings, events and functions throughout the year.  This is an ideal opportunity to network with colleagues and industry stakeholders, or to advertise your products and services to members.

Tender Information 

As a free service to members, we do extensive research across the province and upload building and construction related tender notices on a daily basis.

Lobbying 

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal is able to lobby government and industry stakeholders on pressing issues affecting the building and construction industry.

The Association has a dedicated Training Academy, able to assist with any training-related queries.  We offer a range of industry and contractor development training courses.

A variety of online and offline communication channels are used to disseminate the vast amount of information that members need to go through in order to run their business efficiently and effectively.

The Trade Member category of membership applies to small business operations owned and run by one individual where there is no distinction between the business and its owner.

Membership Criteria

Candidates for the proposed new membership category would include (not limited to) those who have qualified in the following trades:

To meet the criteria as a Trade Member, the applicant must have qualified via one of the following routes:

• Trade Certificate
• Apprenticeship
• Learnerships
• National Certificate (Vocational)
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
• Part Qualification; certificate of competency from an accredited training provider
• At least two years practical experience confirmed in writing by an existing Member of the Association

All of the above criteria are recognised South African Qualifications. Proof of qualification must be submitted with the application.

Applicant must be operating a business as a sole proprietor or similar entity in the respective trade.

Applicant must provide at least 2 trade references which are to be checked by the Association.

Trade Member will be required to keep a log book in order to maintain membership. (Association to provide Template) 

Applicant must be willing to undergo a screening process which will include being interviewed by the Area Manager.

Applicant must provide a copy of their Identity document.

Applicant must provide proof of residence.

Income tax reference number.
