WINNER/WBHO CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD WILD COAST SUN REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSIONS
The project commenced in January 2011 and handed over on the 22 June 2012. 285 hotel rooms were to have bathrooms demolished and rebuilt including upgrading of services, tiling, painting, plumbing etc. All corridors leading to the rooms were also refurbished.
The sequencing of the rooms proved difficult initially as certain passages and areas had to be kept operational for public use. With a section of the hotel being operational, it meant that breaking before 9 am in the morning as well as overtime in the evening, was prohibited. Access to the sea facing rooms was also challenging as our labour had to walk six floors delivering material and removing rubble.
Sun international were particular about the surrounding environment and had a full time environmentalist on site overseeing proceedings.
