SUPREME WINNER - ZIMBALI COASTAL RESORT
This unit was designed with a small family in mind. Optimal use was made of the space available to create comfortable and affordable architecture. Large glassed areas were created to bring nature inside and also lets lots of natural light in. the highlight is the floating kitchen unit which accentuates the outside-in relationship. Most of the units face towards the ocean, but all have lovely views to the surrounding forest areas. These views can be enjoyed from the covered patio areas of which some were extended by adding timber decks and some private pools.
Earthly colours combined with timber blend in well with the surrounding landscape. All interior finishes are well chosen and reflect each units individuality. The site was established on ground which called for majority of platforms to be on cut and fill, thus piled foundations for each unit was constructed. The double storey units were constructed by means of a reinforced slab and a ring beam to support the roof structure. The ring beam was supported off load bearing masonry walls.
