This was quite a complicated house to set out with the two different levels and numerous different angled and circular walls. During excavations one large termites nest was discovered which was removed and poisoned. A bore hole was also installed with the intention of not having to rely on the municipal water supply. A solar power generation system was also installed, again with the intention of not being independent of the municipal/Eskom supply. An interior designer was involved during all stages of the contract. One of the main challenges was controlling storm water runoff into the VCCE particularly during the ground work stages of the contract. There were no lost time accidents during the contract.
