Members must rest assured that the Association is continuously representing your best interest at all levels and that we continue to lobby and advocate for a more sustainable construction industry. In our last edition, members were informed of the various initiatives which are being pursued to attain this goal. We will keep you posted on the progress herein. In the interim, Members are urged to continue reporting late and non-payments to the Association in order for us to assist in unlocking these payments. 

We are pleased to have launched our Member loyalty awards programme. Please be on the lookout for your certificates. The Association looks forward to a long and fruitful relationship with all its members.

The Association annually commemorates World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year a Seminar was held on ‘’Construction health and safety pitfalls - what you need to know’’, attracting approximately 110 delegates. The Association was honoured to have high-level presenters from SACPCMP, FEM and the Department of Labour amongst others.

The closing date for submission of entries to the Excellence in Construction competition was extended to 10 May 2019. Members are encouraged to take advantage of this extension and submit your entries. The competition provides members with a platform to showcase their work and obtain exposure in the industry.

The Corporate Member Breakfast was graced by the presence of Sanjay Harryparshad from the office of the US Consulate-General. He presented on business opportunities and possible partnerships with US - based companies and how to access such opportunities. Members are invited to contact the Association for further details as required. 

Let us take the opportunity to congratulate our member company All the While Trading for clinching victory at the Association Sports Day held at UKZN. The teams went on to win the Soccer, Volleyball and Overall Winner trophies. The Association extends its appreciation to all marketing partners and participants for their contribution to the success of the event.

This edition brings you interesting news and information. Engagement with industry stakeholders is once again highlighted and attention is drawn to an exciting new project in Zululand. Pertinent information regarding contractual and legal matters and World Day for Safety and Health at Work are also featured. Members should also take cognisance of the article titled ‘Maintaining Employee Retention’ which focuses on retaining of talented, skilled, and experienced employees - a must read in the month of workers. Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal salutes all employees for their contribution to the industry!
